Saul out of Atleti squad

Atletico Madrid's final training session ahead of Sunday's meeting with Deportivo La Coruna took place on Saturday morning, and Saul Niguez one of a number of absentees.

Tiago Mendes, Miguel Angel Moya and Alessio Cerci were out through injury whilst Saul was working alone in the gym, separate from the main group.

As a result the 21-year-old joins the list of five key players who are set to be rested for Sunday's match.

Diego Godin, Antoine Griezmann, Koke and Jan Oblak are all expected to be rested with the upcoming Champions League tie against Bayern Munich at the forefront of Diego Simeone's thinking.

However Saul is the only individual of that list who didn't even make the full matchday squad which is as follows.

Goalkeepers: Oblak, Moreira

Defenders: Juanfran, Gimenez, Godin, Savic, Lucas, Filipe Luis, Vrsaljko

Midfielders: Gabi, Augusto, Koke, Partey, Gaitan, Carrasco

Forwards: Correa, Torres, Griezmann, Gameiro
