In a revealing interview, Bayern Munich coach Carlo Ancelotti has spoken of how he had to adapt his footballing idealogy at Real Madrid because of Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Real Madrid No.7 has often been criticised for being too individual, and told the Italian where he was going to play upon Ancelotti's arrival into the Los Blancos hot-seat.
"He was the most important player and I had to listen to where he preferred to play and after that try to adapt," the former Chelsea coach told the Daily Mail.
"It was not so difficult because Ronaldo liked to play on the left side, Benzema was a fantastic striker and Bale on the right - I think it was good."
After a sabbatical and time out of the game, Ancelotti did admit to missing the daily grind of club management.
"I missed football yes. In the November I knew that in June I would coach Bayern but it was good to take a break," he said.
The Italian was also in no doubt that countryman Antonio Conte will do well at Chelsea.
"I coached him at Juventus and he was a leader," he continued.
"He was a great professional as a player and I think he is the same as a coach.
"I don't know him well as a coach but his character and personality is very focused.
"Everyone needs time and he will do a good job at Chelsea."
Since arriving at Real Madrid in 2009, Cristiano Ronaldo has averaged more than a goal a game, and one of his favourite victims in LaLiga is Athletic Club goalkeeper Gorka Iraizoz.
The Real Madrid No. 7 has scored against Los Leones 16 times in 14 matches, with 15 of those strikes coming against Iraizoz in particular.
That makes the Basque club and their keeper one of the Portuguese's favourites to play against, even more so than Claudio Bravo (13 goals), Javi Varas (11), Diego Alves (9), or Diego Lopez (8).
Of those 15 scored against Iraizoz, 12 have come at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, a record Ronaldo will be eager to continue at 20:45 CET on Sunday night
