The reality of Barcelona's loss against Celta VIgo is that they had learned nothing from their humbling at Balaidos last season, with Sergio Busquets one of the chief culprits for the Catalans downfall.
How often can such an accusation be levelled at a player who has been as central to the clubs' recent successes as the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.
Making headline news for all of the wrong reasons just isn't in the midfielder's make up, such sub-standard fare from him as rare as a good hair day for Donald Trump.
Used to time on the ball and the luxury of picking a pass when and where he likes, Busquets had Daniel Wass and Pablo Hernandez in particular biting at his heels as soon as he was in possession.
Collectively the visitors were all over the place once Celta had taken the lead and conceding three first half goals in 11 minutes for the first time in nine years gave a nod to just how out of sorts a performance their first 45 minutes was. Or maybe that does a disservice to just how well Celta had stifled their opponents.
'Busi' couldn't ever be described as a lazy player even if he appears passive at times. His is a thoughtful and considered style but there was no zip about his play and he was consistently caught in possession.
The introduction of Andres Iniesta added the required urgency where it was needed and he, along with the excellent Gerard Pique should be exonerated from the blame that will come in spades after this loss.
It was Pique's secondary role as an auxillary striker that gave the Catalans hope and after Neymar added a second, things began to look up for Enrique's charges.
Well, most of them.
Busquets was unable to shake his lethargy and the least surprising substitution of the night came on 76 minutes when he was replaced by Denis Suarez.
The player's own body language as he made his way to the bench was a sure sign of the loathing of his own contribution.
Within a minute, another inexplicable error, this time from Marc-Andre ter Stegen, handed the win to Celta on a silver platter meaning Busquets would ultimately be spared total blame for the eventual defeat.
Pique's late second made a game of it and in fairness to the visitors, they did have chances to equalise at the death.
But it would've been harsh on a Celta side who've been more successful against Luis Enrique's Barcelona than any other.
