After demoralising the Alaves forwards with his ubiquity, Keylor Navas was glad Real Madrid came out on top at Estadio Mendizorroza and hoped the hit he suffered on his knee would not make him miss any matches.
The star goalkeeper downplayed his role in Los Blancos' win, complementing the effort of his teammates.
"We should not focus on a single moment, we all contributed to the positive result," Navas said. "It was a lopsided result in the end but we capitalised on our opportunities."
When asked if he was dealing with knee discomfort after the final whistle, the Costa Rica native was sincere but optimistic.
"It [the knee] is a little swollen but I hope it's not too serious," he maintained.
"It was provoked by a collision and I count on being at full strength as soon as possible."
Regarding the crucial pair of saves with which he prevented Alaves from levelling the contest, Navas was simply happy for helping the team.
"I'm happy when my work gets the praise it deserves, but if my teammates fail to score we don't win," he stated.
"We are aware we cannot press hard for 90 straight minutes.
"Whenever we sat deep it was because it was not the right time to go all out attacking, but rather remain organised.
"We were very compact as a team, we are very satisfied about obtaining a road win against Alaves, who have caused trouble to other big teams."
Looking to the future, Navas highlighted that he cannot rest on past glories as he tackles a spell without a clean sheet after overcoming a previous injury.
"I hope I can play out the remainder of my contract [2020] and hopefully many more years at Madrid," said the keeper.
"However, I must prove myself on the pitch every season."Keylor Navas to acquire his first clean sheet of the season, seven if including internationals, and the Real Madrid goalkeeper has so far failed to achieve a shutout.
Deyverson's strike for Alaves made it seven goals conceded in a Blancos jersey this season as defensive issues continue to linger in the background of Real's title challenge.
Indeed the questions surpass just Navas, thanks to Madrid's record of keeping just two clean sheets in 2016/17, away to Espanyol and Real Sociedad.
Away for the first weeks of the season, the Costa Rican shot-stopper took time to come back from heel surgery that ruled him out of his country's Copa America exploits.
