Thierry Henry would not be a good fit within France's coaching staff, according to the nation's federation president Noel Le Graet.
Henry, France's record goalscorer, was appointed as part of Roberto Martinez's backroom staff with Belgium in August.
Martinez's predecessor Marc Wilmots was heavily critical of that move, describing it as "pure amateurism" due to Henry's other commitments as a television pundit.
Some have been surprised that the France Football Federation (FFF) has not previously found a position for Henry among head coach Didier Deschamps' backroom team, but Le Graet believes the former striker's strong personality could cause a clash.
"I recognise that I do not have frequent contact with Thierry. The national team does not have much to offer him," the FFF president told RMC.
"Didier has his staff. Both in the same group, I'm not sure it would stick. They are both strong personalities. Do not put two strong personalities in the same staff.
"That does not mean that [assistant coach] Guy Stephan is not a strong character.
"Maybe we should meet. He [Henry] did not further demonstrate a willingness to talk."
