Ter Stegen: Bravo's error? These things happen

Had Barcelona entertained bids for Marc-Andre ter Stegen this summer, Pep Guardiola may well have tried to bring the 24-year-old to Manchester City but on Wednesday evening the young German shone while the Premier League club's eventual signing, Claudio Bravo saw red in a disappointing defeat.
Ter Stegen didn't appear to think there was much argument about the decision to send off his opposing number but was supportive of his former Barcelona colleague.
The ex-Borussia Monchengladbach stopper took over from Bravo when the Catalan club decided to cash in on the 33-year-old Chilean.
"I'll speak with Bravo about other things, not about the mistake," explained ter Stegen.
"These things happen in the life of a goalkeeper but I'm sure it isn't a problem for him [Bravo] or City."
Barcelona only led 1-0 when Bravo was shown a red card for handling outside the penalty area and until that point, ter Stegen admitted that City made life difficult.
"Until the red card, they pressed us and at first it was difficult but with the red, it became more difficult to push up and we scored at very important times," the keeper insisted.
Lionel Messi was once more the key factor in Barcelona's victory and the goalkeeper added, "Messi is very important for us and our game."
"We have very good players who can score the move the ball and we have one of the best teams in the world but we have to prove it with every game."
