With Aritz Aduriz scoring all five of Athletic Club's goals, the Basque club beat Genk 5-3 in exciting fashion, setting up qualification for the next round quite nicely.
The 35-year-old scored three penalties after fouls on Iker Muniain, Raul Garcia and Inaki Williams respectively, and two goals from open play as the Basque's secured second in the group.
With a win away at Rapid Vienna in the next matchday, Athletic could be through to the last 16 of the Europa League.
After taking a 2-0 lead, Genk's exciting winger Leon Bailey made it 2-1 and the Belgians continued to fight back whenever they went behind, with Wilfred Ndidi and Tino Susic making it 3-2 and 4-3 respectively.
The 2-2 draw between Sassuolo and Rapid Vienna means that Athletic are tied with Genk at the top of Group F, but the Belgians have a superior goal difference.
Should Genk slip up against Sassuolo and Athletic win in Austria, the Basques would top the group.
