Having put himself up as Real Madrid's top scorer with eight goals since his return to the club, Alvaro Morata is worthy of a regular starting spot in the eyes of teammate Dani Carvajal. The defender plays alongside Morata for both club and country and believes he has plenty more to offer if given the chance. "[Morata] is proving that he deserves more game time with his performances," Carvajal told El Larguero. "If he continues this way, he'll play many more minutes this season. "[Zinedine] Zidane is being fair with his team selection and he's been brave when Isco or James Rodriguez have been benched." Now on Spain duty for clashes with Macedonia and England, the right-back joked that his international goals are related to one Madrid colleague. "I have said that I want to win one more European Championship than Cristiano [Ronaldo]," said Carvajal. "He's a very ambitious person and this can come across as anger. "My focus is on Macedonia and training has been going well."
Claiming the Alfredo di Stefano trophy, the Real Madrid winger was present along with club teammate Alvaro Morata, who was rewarded for his contributions to the Spanish national side. Diego Simeone also attended ahead of picking up the Miguel Munoz Award whilst Leganes coach Asier Garitano won the Segunda Division edition of the managerial trophy. LaLiga president Javier Tebas was also present at the 2015/16 ceremony, as were Emilio Butragueno, Fernando Hierro, Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo, and Sevilla chief Jose Castro.
