The good news just keeps coming for Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane, after midfield enforcer Casemiro returned to training with the squad for the first time since his injury. An injury sustained on September 18 against Espanyol has sidelined the Brazilian ever since and he had been forced to rehab alone at Valdebebas. However, on Wednesday, he completed his first training session with the rest of the group since the injury as he grows ever nearer to a return. It remains to be seen whether or not Zidane will name in his match day squad for Saturday's clash against Sporting Gijon, with Casemiro focused on making a comeback in El Clasico on December 3. A cracked fibula has kept Casemiro out of action for Los Blancos' last 13 games, with Toni Kroos deputising until he too was struck down with injury. Meanwhile, injured defender Pepe completed the first part of the training session with the rest of the group before focusing on individual work for the latter period.
Real Madrid's training session on Wednesday included exercises for ball control, possession and passing before they took on the Castilla side in a practice match.Casemiro sidelined for two more weeks, and it is somewhat of an uncommon injury compared to problems in the heel or other ankle injuries, and yet the Brazilian midfielder vows to return as soon as possible. The pivot's role within the side provides balance to the team as a whole, and Zinedine Zidane's squad have been held to four consecutive draws without him, which just goes to show how important Casemiro has become. "It is a bit of a tough injury to recover from but I'm looking forward to making my return," Casemiro said. "It's frustrating not being out on the pitch helping your teammates and being able to sacrifice for the team." Nonetheless, the Brazilian has rejected talk of it being his absence which has contributed to Real's inability to get all three points in recent weeks. "I'm an important player just like all players are important," he insisted. "Without my teammates I wouldn't be, so we should learn to value everyone accordingly."
