Chicago Fire reportedly make a move on Schweinsteiger

Manchester United have hardly endeared themselves to Bastian Schweinsteiger since they bought the German in 2015 and the German is said to be in talks with Chicago Fire. The MLS side's coach, Veljko Paunovic, was pictured by The Express having dinner with the midfielder in London last Friday and further reports have emerged over the deal. ESPN believe that Schweinsteiger is in talks to sign for Chicago, who still have over 18 months to run on his deal at Old Trafford. Jose Mourinho's appointment as United boss initially saw the 32-year-old outcast by the Portuguese coach although he's since been brought back into the first-team fold. After making 18 Premier League appearances last season, 32-year-old Schweinsteiger has not played for United since the Portuguese took over as manager from Louis van Gaal this year.
Schweinsteiger, who had been training with the club's reserves according to media reports, was pictured alongside his team mates as Mourinho supervised a session on Monday. The former Bayern Munich midfielder said in August that he would not join another club in Europe. He played over 500 matches for Bayern, winning eight Bundesliga titles and the 2013 Champions League. United, who are eighth in the Premier League standings, travel to Fenerbahce in the Europa League on Thursday, before a trip to 19th-placed Swansea City on Sunday.
