Romanian centre-back Daniel Prodan passed away after suffering from a heart attack at the age of 44 on Wednesday. The defender played for Atletico Madrid for a season and a half, between 1996 and June of 1998. After a spell with the Rojiblancos, the player then moved on to Glasgow Rangers, before ending his career in Italy. Prodan featured for the Romanian national team with a total of 54 official caps.
