Gameiro: Ancelotti didn't keep his promise

Current Atletico Madrid star Kevin Gameiro hasn't held back in his criticism of former coach Carlo Ancelotti, from when the pair worked together at Paris Saint-Germain. The Frenchman has even gone as far as to suggest that the Italian reneged on his promise to allow the striker to leave the club."When they replaced Antoine Kombouare with Ancelotti, I soon realised that he didn't count on me," Gameiro said. "I was a regular but became a substitute who didn't even play. "I told Ancelotti that I wanted to leave at the end of his first season, but he stopped me and said that I would get minutes on the pitch because we had such a heavy schedule. "He didn't keep his promise though. I went to his office to talk to him and ask for explanations and although he was open to dialogue, he didn't change anything."
After finally leaving the Parisian club and landing in Seville, Gameiro won three Europa League titles before he began a new chapter at Atletico Madrid this season. His performances for the Rojiblancos have been so good that it has led to him being called up to the French national team.
