Griezmann: My injury is not too serious

Didier Deschamps has decided to let Antoine Griezmann return to Madrid after he suffered an injury in France's win over Sweden, and the player himself was quick to assure Atletico supporters that it was nothing too serious. A blow on the left foot meant he was withdrawn early from proceedings on Saturday but it's expected that he will be fit for the Madrid derby on November 19. The French team will play Ivory Coast next Tuesday (21:00 CET), whilst Griezmann will be doing everything possible on the training pitch to ensure he is in Atleti's starting XI when the teams take the pitch at the Estadio Vicente Calderon. "It [the injury] is not too serious," he said. "But I have to work morning, afternoon and night to be ready."France team played and won against Sweden, Antoine Griezmann suffered a blow to his right foot which threatens his participation in the Madrid derby on November 19.
With only seven days until the game against Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid want to rule out a more serious injury as soon as possible. The Rojiblancos are waiting expectantly for the result of the possible tests that would pass Griezmann fit, and allow them to sleep easier in the interim. Replaced by N'Golo Kante in the 88th minute, Griezmann didn't have the opportunity of playing any minutes alongside club colleague Kevin Gameiro and before the end of the current international break, France have another game to play, this time a friendly against Ivory Coast. However, the indications are that Griezmann will not be forced to play by Didier Deschamps which will at least allow the striker time in which to get ready for the game against Atleti's eternal rivals.
