Guardiola: The more that the players have sex, the better they will perform on the pitch

Ahead of the Saturday afternoon clash against Crystal Palace, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola revealed the truth on his sex rule, saying he would never ban something like that. Samir Nasri, who moved on loan to Sevilla in the last transfer window, claimed the Spanish manager banned sex after midnight, even if players had a free day the following day. "Relations must be before midnight. It's so you can have a good night's sleep," Nasri said. "He told us this is how we got the best out of Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski, and for them to avoid the maximum number of injuries."
However, the City tactician surprisingly addressed the issue during Friday's press conference confessing sex is good for players performance. "It's not possible playing well without having sex with your partner," he said. "The more they have, the better they will be."Manchester City's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace this weekend, Pep Guardiola has given his support to under fire England captain Wayne Rooney. Capped over 40 times for Spain during his playing days, the Manchester City coach stated his distaste for the media getting involved in players private lives. "I do not like when people talk about my private life, so I will not comment on the private lives of others," said Guardiola. "I went on international duty and sometimes drank, we are all adults, and we know the consequences."
Manchester City have taken six points from their last five league games, and have slipped to third in the table despite leading the pack for most of the season. "Sometimes it happens, and we have now gone three games without a win at home and we have lost six points," said the Spaniard. "However, I am optimistic because in those three games we deserved to win and I have great confidence in my team. "The calendar is very stressful for the players. Tiredness is not an excuse for losing games or playing poorly, but the important thing is there have been no injuries so all has gone well." Crystal Palace have won just one game in their last seven league matches, but Guardiola is not underestimating Alan Pardew's side. "I expect a tough match and the coach is very experienced in this league," he said. "When I see a rival I never look at their position in the table, I try to analyse what they are doing well where they are strong. Every game is different."
After displaying some strong performances in the English League Cup, the former Barcelona coach was full of praise for 19-year-old Aleix Garcia. "He has a lot of quality," said Guardiola. "The only problem he has is that there are 22-23 players in the squad. He's a fantastic guy and we are very happy with their performance." The City coach also had a comment for Brazilian youngster Gabriel Jesus who will link up with the pack in January after sealing a deal in mid-August. "We are very happy he is to arrive in January. We will try to help him suit England. He is young, but Fernando and Fernandinho will help him for sure," he said. Just two points separate the current top four of the Premier League and City will have to hope that Liverpool and Chelsea drop points this weekend in order to resume the number one spot.
