Juande Ramos facing Barcelona for the first time since 2-6 Clasico defeat

It is often forgotten it that it was less than seven years ago that a Juande Ramos-led Real Madrid side lost 6-2 to Barcelona in Pep Guardiola's debut Clasico. For the first time since that date, Ramos will return to the Camp Nou to face the Blaugrana with his new Malaga team. That meeting led to Barcelona securing the treble in Guardiola's first year in charge and the beginning of a dynasty at the Catalan club. The result also culminated in a period of instability at Real Madrid which resulted in Florentino Perez's return to Los Blancos. It is perhaps unsurprising that, when Jose Mourinho's side lost 5-0, Ramos was one of the voices most critical of the loss.
"At 2-6, Real Madrid did not suffer the humiliation of a 5-0," Ramos began. "The difference between my [Real Madrid] team and Mourinho's is around 500 million. "In addition, the 5-0 was not an accurate representation of the game; it could have been more." Since his time in Madrid, Ramos' career has developed abroad. He had a fleeting spell in charge of CSKA Moscow, which was then followed by a four-year stint at Ukrainian side Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk. After a couple of years away from the game, Ramos is back in La Liga with Malaga and will be looking to cause an upset at the Camp Nou on Saturday at 16:15 CET.
