Samuel Umtiti has certainly been thrown in at the deep end since joining Barcelona, and Luis Fernandez believes that the defender has shown his willingness to succeed. The former Athletic Club, Paris Saint-Germain, and now Guinea coach knows what it takes to do well in LaLiga with the Frenchman in some of the best conditions to improve his game. "Umtiti has a great will to improve and is at a team with many high level players, it's known that he wants to succeed and is working hard to do so," Fernandez told MARCA. "During his time in France he already showed his quality, talent, and judgement on the ball. Now he's proving himself when surrounded by great players and he's already improved a lot in his first few months. "He knows how to win the ball and doesn't get nervous, he may be quiet but his confidence is growing and his teammates are helping his quality grow."
Lucas Digne is another French player who made the move to Catalunya in the summer and Fernandez feels that the young full-back is close to reaching his potential. "He's a player of great quality," he added. "If he fights for it, it will come. He's in a tough competition with Jordi Alba and is on the precipice but isn't yet playing excellently. "He has to learn the Barcelona way of attack."Samuel Umtiti was also present having overcome his own injury problems to give Luis Enrique a couple more options given that Jordi Alba and Ivan Rakitic will miss the weekend game against Deportivo La Coruna, with Sergi Roberto a doubt. International duty is yet to come to an end for Luis Suarez, but the striker's colleagues were put through their paces in Barcelona with Neymar having returned to training straight off the plane on Tuesday morning. Also back from playing for their countries were Sergio Busquets, Andres Iniesta, Gerard Pique, Lucas Digne, Andre Gomes, and Denis Suarez.
