Argentina ended their international duties with a solid 3-0 win over Colombia which seems to have reinvigorated their Barcelona stars, with Lionel Messi and Javier Mascherano back in training a day early. Luis Suarez and Neymar also faced long journeys back from South America and will rejoin the squad on Friday, a luxury afforded to the Albiceleste duo who nonetheless showed up on Thursday morning ready for action. Malaga are in the Blaugrana's sights as LaLiga resumes on the weekend, and Luis Enrique today had Sergi Roberto, Sergio Busquets, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Denis Suarez, and Lucas Digne back under his command. The board of directors at the club are doing their best to retain and renew the best players in the team but it's a delicate balancing act. Neymar's contract improvement puts him at the top of the list, with an annual outlay of around 50 million euros gross. That figure is above Lionel Messi's current deal, unless the Argentine and Barcelona are able to reach a new agreement which would again place him as the biggest earner.
Luis Suarez is currently finalising the details of his own contract and according to what MARCA has been able to find out, the Uruguayan is in line for a significant salary increase. It would still be well below the other two members of the trident at around 25m euros per season. In total therefore, the Catalans would be shelling out in the region of 125m euros per campaign for the front three alone - more than 21 percent of the budget for the club in 2016/17. Only Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla, as well as Barcelona, are able to absorb that level of expense.
