After leaving the pitch early against Macedonia on Saturday, Alvaro Morata was back out training on Sunday with his colleagues and it emerged that his injury wasn't as bad as first feared. He worked normally during the session and should be available to Julen Lopetegui for the match against England on Tuesday. For his part, Sergi Roberto, who arrived into the group with some discomfort, was on the bench against Macedonia on the condition that he was fit to play only if Lopetegui had considered it appropriate. Both players will now travel to London with the rest of the La Roja party.Spain were without Sergio Ramos, Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba and Andres Iniesta when the squad was announced, and then Diego Costa had to pull out and was replaced by Iago Aspas. "What is essential is that we have a team," Lopetegui began. "We had injuries, but it was an opportunity for other players to be on the pitch."
Continuing on from his praise of the squad, Lopetegui singled out praise for Sevilla winger Vitolo. "It seems that Vitolo always wants to learn more and he is willing to work hard," he continued. "He has been a regular in the team and it is because he is responding well to what we are asking him to do. "Players with that mentality will make us better."
Spain now face a trip to Wembley Stadium where they will take on England in a friendly on Tuesday evening. "It is true that the three points were played today, but now we have a great game against England," Lopetegui said. "We want to compete and do well [against England]; whoever plays, it will be a good opportunity for some to make a claim to be in the starting XI."
