Atletico Madrid have three goalkeepers again since Miguel Angel Moya received his medical clearance 12 days ago, so from now on, if there are no new physical issues, Diego Simeone will have to discard one of his goalkeepers for each and every game, meaning Moya's entry back into first-team contention needs to be specifically monitored. After a preseason full of problems, Moya had an arthroscopy on August 11. Knowing that his goalkeeper would be at least two months on the sidelines, Simeone made it clear to Miguel Angel Gil in a meeting that took place in Cadiz that he wanted a spare custodian. Atletico recovered Moreira from his loan at Os Belenenses just a week after the contract was signed, but so far he has not had the opportunity to play. Jan Oblak hasn't lost any matches in LaLiga or the Champions League so the likelihood is that Moreira is now in direct competition with Moya.
Both are expected to wait to enjoy an opportunity, but Atletico want to check the competitive state of the Mallorcan, who is 32 and whose contract ends in June, before making final decisions.Atletico Madrid squad is on international duty, Diego Simeone has been working with a very close knit group of individuals and Miguel Angel Moya is once again working in the nets. The goalkeeper has been an injury concern yet on Friday he worked with the group outside for the first time in weeks, practicing stopping shots in between the posts and stepping up his recovery ahead of a return to action. That was the good news of the day but it was not all sunshine for Los Colchoneros,Fernando Torres remaining in the gym all morning without engaging in a full session.
