The last-minute deals between Valencia and Barcelona that saw Paco Alcacer head to Catalunya with Munir El-Haddadi moving south have hardly been a success. Spanish international Alcacer is yet to score for Blaugrana but his continued presence at the Camp Nou means even he's enjoying a better time than his 21-year-old compatriot. Starting just twice in LaLiga, Munir has managed only 330 minutes in 2016/17 and hasn't been a first-choice for either Pako Ayestaran, caretaker boss Voro Gonzalez, or Cesare Prandelli.
Conversely, his best performance came against Barcelona as he struck a vital second-half goal, a well-executed finish from 18 yards but his role during his other appearances has been murky, in particular struggling to make an impact inside the box. A long season is ahead for the young attacker and Los Che's 12 million euro fee to make the signing permanent may become a subject of contention in the coming months. That's especially when cheaper, more experienced signings Nani and Mario Suarez have set a higher standard and made a far bigger impact since joining Valencia in the summer.
