Nacho and Varane hold impressive record for Real Madrid

Real Madrid are being forced to rely on Nacho Fernandez and Raphael Varaneas Sergio Ramos and Pepe sit out the next couple of matches with injury, but history suggests Los Blancos shouldn't be so worried.
Granted, Atletico Madrid put four past Real in the derby two seasons ago, yet the duo's other nine games at the heart of the defence have provided eight wins and one draw.
That run includes seven clean sheets, including a 0-0 with Malaga in September 2015, which contrasts greatly to Madrid's recent dearth of shutouts, where they've sealed just two in 15 matches.
The tally grows further when including the games one of the two has been forced to play as a full-back, in which Real have claimed 18 victories.
Legia Warsaw are up next for Los Blancos as Nacho and Varane are set to start in Polish Army Stadium, and most likely once again when Leganes come to town on Sunday, a fact which should ease the concerns of those inside the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
