Puyol: If there's a team that can win it all, it's Barcelona

It'll come as little surprise that former Barcelona player Carles Puyol is backing his ex-side to win it all this season, given the team's consistency and undeniable talent.
One of the few one-club men in recent decades, Puyol admitted that having some of the best coaches and players around him made his life easier both on and off the pitch during his playing days.
"If there's a team that can win it all, it's Barcelona," the former centre-back said. "To win LaLiga, you need to be consistent, and to win the Copa del Rey and the Champions League you need something more, since if you have a bad day you are pracitcally out.
"I've been lucky to have Luis Aragones, Pep Guardiola, and Vicente del Bosque, because they are the ones that let me reach the point where I won it all."
Though Milan was at one point a possible destination for the defender, Puyol never had any intention of leaving his childhood club.
"Barcelona is the only team that has a place in my heart," he said. "It's been my home for 19 years and I've made great friends here like Luis Enrique, Gerard Pique, Andres Iniesta, Xavi and Eric Abidal."Barcelona's first team, Marc Bartra has signed for Borussia Dortmund, a decision his agent and former club legend, Carles Puyol, says is a brave one.
At the opening of a children's centre in his hometown Pobla de Segur, Puyol addressed the subject of taking the defender and placing him elsewhere.
"He has been brave because he wasn't playing much," Puyol began.
"I know the club wanted him to continue, but there were other circumstances and we thought the best thing was to leave.
"I have a lot of confidence in him because he is a good centre-back."
The Catalan made it clear that Barcelona had been kept in the loop throughout the process.
"The club was informed of everything," he said.
"I'm not the one who has to say whether it's good or bad business."
Discussing his old team's 2015/16 season, it was clear Puyol was delighted.
"It was a very good campaign.
"Barcelona have won two, or four, titles, depending on how you look at it.
"They will be very happy at Real Madrid, while at Barcelona we are very proud of our team."
As an ex-Spanish international, he was also asked about his country's chances in France.
"There is a lot of pressure on them because anything but a win will be viewed as a failure.
"The team is putting its faith in youth, but the veterans must still pull the team forward.
"Spain is among the favourites, along with Germany and France.
"If Spain wins then it will be the third in a row and nobody else has done that."
