Scottish referee Collum to officiate Real Madrid's trip to Lisbon

UEFA have designated Scottish referee William Collum to oversee the match between Real Madrid and Sporting CP on Tuesday at Estadio Jose Alvalade, corresponding to the fifth fixture of the Champions League group stage. The 37-year-old, who was promoted to the elite level in 2012, is an old acquaintance of Los Blancos, as he refereed their home duel with Galatasaray three seasons ago. Aside from patrolling major football matches, Collum is a secondary school teacher. Meanwhile, Mark Clattenburg will make the disciplinary calls in a high-calibre match-up between Sevilla and Juventus at Estadio Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan. The 41-year-old had the privilege of refereeing the Euro 2016 final between Portugal and France. The Andalusian fans surely have fond memories of Clattenburg presence, as he supervised Sevilla's 2-1 win at Athletic Club in the 2015/16 Europa League quarter-final. More recently, the English official handled the contest between Borussia Dortmund and Madrid at Signal Iduna Park, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
