Celta Vigo beat Panathinaikos to advance

By means of an early goal by John Guidetti and a stout defensive performance, Celta Vigo defeated Panathinaikos 2-0 and qualified to the Europa League round of 32.
The Galicians bounced back from a disappointing home draw against Standard Liege in the previous fixture, which had put them on the brink of elimination.
However, Celta did their homework against the formerly potent Greek side and took advantage of the draw between Standard and Ajax in Belgium.
A penalty-kick goal by Chilean forward Fabian Orellana after 76 minutes sealed the deal at Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium.
Celta's next opponents will be revealed on December 12 after the draw.
