Although Real Madrid will possibly be weakened by the absence of captain Sergio Ramos for their Club World Cup game against America of Mexico on Thursday, Zinedine Zidane has already hinted that the rest of his side is virtually decided with a midfield that will almost certainly include Luka Modric and the 'Double K' of Mateo Kovacic and Toni Kroos.
Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo will start up front for Los Blancos meaning that Casemiro, Isco and Lucas Vazquez are left to fight it out for the remaining midfield spot.
The Brazilian hasn't yet recovered his best form and is lacking pace after the serious injury suffered earlier in the campaign.
It's unlikely he will make the starting line up but Zidane won't make a final decision until after Wednesday's training.
Assuming he misses out, Lucas will have stiff competition from Isco who has come to life over the last few games, particularly in the Madrid derby at the Estadio Vicente Calderon.
In defence, regardless of what happens with Ramos, Dani Carvajal, Raphael Varane and Marcelo are fixed starters, as is Keylor Navas in goal.
