Mendes: James Rodriguez is a top player with nothing to prove

Real Madrid were rocked by James Rodriguez's admission that he may be seeking a move away from the LaLiga leaders, with agent Jorge Mendes stating that the Colombian hasn't anything to prove.
Refusing to confirm or deny the possible exit rumours, Rodriguez's abilities were backed up by the 50-year-old, who admitted that persuading coach Zinedine Zidane to play the midfielder was the next key step.
"[James] is a top player, he can play anywhere and has nothing to prove," Mendes told Sky Sports.
"He's a player who has done well, but now he has to recover the ground to convince Zidane."
With Chelsea and Juventus two key names in the chase for Rodriguez's signature, the player's agent was unmoving on the possibility of a January transfer.
"I will not speak about other clubs, we will see what happens," noted Mendes.
