Despite professing to not want to leave Barcelona, Aleix Vidal's situation may be taken out of his hands with the club especially keen to prise Darijo Srna away from Shakhtar Donetsk.
Although Vidal played well against Borussia Monchengladbach and Luis Enrique recognised it in his post-match press conference, it doesn't mean that the situation has changed.
The club is continuing to consider strengthening in the right-back position and the option to go to the winter market is still alive.
Joao Cancelo will not leave Valencia in January, something that Barcelona already know, hence the reason for tracking Srna.
If there is a good destination for Vidal, the club will sell him no matter what he wants.
On Friday, the team returns to training after a day granted by Luis Enrique.
It will be the first and only session that the Catalan team have before travelling to dedicate to Pamplona to face Osasuna. The former Sevilla defender was handed his first Champions League start of the season in the dead rubber clash, but proved his worth nevertheless with a solid defensive display and an assist to his name.
Having been left out of the squad for three months, Vidal is proud of impressive performance and claims he will continue to push for a spot in the starting XI.
"The club can make whatever decisions they want with me, but I have no intention of leaving," he told TV3.
"It would be foolish to consider leaving the best club in the world. I have a contract here and I think I can succeed here."
"If I value today's performance, it's because I have not been playing for three months. I'm convinced of my performance, although I have to work on the mental side of things."
"I can always improve. It's complicated to never play and then to have a performance like today. In training I will continue to give 200 per cent.
"I understand that it is a sporting issue, not a personal one, with the coach, so I will try to wait for more opportunities and will continue to work hard."
Barcelona will hope to build on this victory when they travel to Osasuna on December 10.
