De Gea transfer saga promises quick solution

The groundwork has been laid for David De Gea's transfer to Real Madrid although the clock is suddenly ticking over the deal's conclusion. While in 2015 it was the end of the summer transfer window that halted the Manchester United goalkeeper's move back to Spain, and this time a self imposed time constraint could affect the deal. Both De Gea and Real do not want to drag their heels over the move and thus hope that everything will be sorted this week.
The exact details of the transfer fee is the major obstacle that must be surpassed by Los Blancos with the final price expected to be around 75 million euros, the asking price of Jose Mourinho's side as widely reported in the British media. Despite the Madrid dressing room's backing of Keylor Navas, there has been no doubt in the boardroom since March when the club hierarchy decided to press ahead with De Gea's capture once it had become clear that Thibaut Courtois would not be leaving Chelsea. At the end of the day, no one inside the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu is going to fight the arrival of the national side's No. 1 goalkeeper and it is thought that De Gea and Navas will soon be battling it out for the Blancos custodianship.
