Pope Francis gifted signed Barcelona shirt



Pope Francis has received a signed Barcelona jersey during his weekly Wednesday general audience in St Peter's' Square at the Vatican.
The Supreme Pontiff, who was elected back in 2013, was met by delegates of #Invulnerables, a project set up to help tackle the issue of poverty through their association with the youth and families.
In addition, the company, who is also sponsored by the Barcelona Foundation, aims to encourage healthy eating while guaranteeing basic goods and services, education while encourages youngsters to pick up sport.
Also in attendance was Blaugrana representative and vice president of the Foundation, Jordi Cardoner Jaume GirĂ³, director general of 'La Caixa', Rosa Oriol Tous and Rosa Tous, president and honorary president of the Rosa Oriol Foundation Social Work, and Sister Lucia Caram, promoter of the project that currently provides support in 12 cities in Catalunya.
The delegation also unveiled plans to build a house for infants which will be constructed in Monastery of Santa Clara Manresa which will be funded by La Caixa.
Cardoner hailed the meeting as a special day for the project whilst claiming that the presentation of the signed jersey was 'uplifting'.
Pope Francis is no stranger to football and made headlines after revealing that he still remains an avid supporter hometown soccer club San Lorenzo.
