Marcos Llorente: Real Madrid players follow Paleolithic diet

The life of a footballer is normally viewed as one of luxury but for Real Madrid players, a strict diet is one of the few sacrifices they do have to make.
In order to keep themselves in top shape, Los Blancos' stars must adhere to a specific food plan that bans certain items completely.
As 21-year-old academy product Marcos Llorente can testify, there is a long list of things that players can't eat, with the diet more akin to something used during Paleolithic times than contemporary society.
"I follow the paleo diet or Paleolithic diet, applied in a football context." he told MARCA.
"We only eat things like fish, meat, chicken, rice, some vegetables and unpasteurized milk. No wheat, very few dairy products. It is based on what was eaten during that period."
"I have a list," he added. "In Las Rozas there is a pizzeria which uses only organic products. I've been to Telepizza once in three years. But I am very disciplined in this regard."
